Mark had always dreaded visiting the dentist. The moment he spotted a syringe, he would break into a sweat and insist there was no way he was getting a numbing injection. Even the thought of laughing gas made him nervous, as he admitted wearing a mask made him feel trapped and uncomfortable.
Trying to help him relax, the dentist patiently suggested several options, but Mark rejected each one. After listening to his concerns, she paused for a moment, smiled, and asked if he had any objections to taking a simple pill instead. Relieved, he quickly agreed, saying that swallowing a pill was no problem at all.
A few minutes later, the dentist returned and handed him a tablet. Mark glanced at it and burst out laughing. “Wait… isn’t this Viagra?” he asked with a puzzled expression. The dentist calmly nodded, leaving him even more confused about how that was supposed to help with dental pain.
Still scratching his head, Mark joked, “I had no idea Viagra worked as a painkiller!” The dentist couldn’t help but laugh before delivering the punchline. “It doesn’t,” she replied. “But it’ll give you something sturdy to hold onto while I give you the injection.”
The room erupted in laughter, and even Mark couldn’t stop smiling. The unexpected joke broke the tension, helped him relax, and made the appointment far less stressful than he had imagined. By the time the visit was over, he admitted it was the funniest trip to the dentist he had ever experienced.
